We're working with community partners to inspire everyone in the Pájaro Valley to respond locally to the global challenge of a changing climate!
As a climate action organization, we at Regeneración are working to create a healthy and livable future for our community. The devastating effects of the virus have shed light on the inequities of our current social and economic systems. Since the emergence of this global pandemic, our organization is acting in solidarity by working remotely while continuing our efforts to engage our community through new and innovative ways. Our current goal is to provide opportunities for people to connect with one another, share ideas, and together create a Just Transition off fossil fuels. When we rebuild, we cannot let the environment take a back seat and continue business as usual. We must continue to adapt and learn the lessons of this crisis in order to rebuild a more resilient community that is equipped to face the climate emergency. World-wide and right here in Santa Cruz County, the people who did the least to cause climate change are suffering first and worst from its impacts.
Our staff is available during the shelter in place order. We are offering opportunities for people to volunteer with us remotely based on each individual's unique skills. You can assist us with our ongoing work to spread awareness on how the climate emergency is impacting our local community. Our current Heat Stress Prevention Program aims to connect the effects of climate change to extreme heat in our area and informs agriculture workers on how to best stay protected. You can find our publications on heat stress, climate action, and much more here: https://www.regenerationpajarovalley.org/publication
Difficult climate impacts will not stop as we continue to deal with this pandemic, so we are continuing our work to adapt and mitigate effects and plan a just recovery in the Pajaro Valley.Contact us here: https://www.regenerationpajarovalley.org/copy-of-contact
