The Beach Flats Community Center & Familia Center are now known as Nueva Vista Community Resources. Here, our compassionate staff build a warm, friendly, safe place for the Santa Cruz community to access resources that offer stability and hope for the future. Nueva Vista Community Resources is part of the Community Bridges family of programs.

Drop-in Services
Nueva Vista Community Resources continue to provide essential services on a drop-in basis for any community member in need. Staff members can provide support enrolling in and accessing benefits, including:

Unemployment
State Disability
CalFresh
Medi-Cal  and emergency Covered CA

Resource Distributions
Food and clothing distributions are continuing, including emergency distributions to people experiencing homelessness.  Limited funds remain to provide grocery gift cards to families in need due to reduced hours or job loss as a result of COVID-19.

Support for Families Ineligible for Public Benefits

Rental assistance is available to undocumented Santa Cruz County and Monterey residents who have lost employment or wages due to COVID-19 that are ineligible for unemployment, or other state or federal public benefits, while funds remain.  To find out if you are eligible please send a text to our bilingual text line (831) 854-7093.

Limited funds remain to provide emergency gift cards for all families that have lost employment income due to COVID-19.

Mental Health Support
During the shelter in place order, the FRCs are offering phone or video counseling sessions on a one-time or short-term basis, in addition to current counseling services. Services are free and bilingual counselors are available. Call 831-246-6360.

Group Programming Temporarily Canceled
Non-essential programs and programs requiring group congregation—including after-school tutoring, parent education, and digital literacy workshops, and any service provided by a third party—have been temporarily discontinued.
